imnotobsessed.com - I've already told you I find the apparent match of Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest a little... baffling. If this TMZ story is true, then it turns out the 'American Idol' host been after Julianne for a few years, but Julianne wasn't interested, due to a... misunderstanding, I guess you could call it.
Our spies in North Carolina tell us Hough was in town for her birthday dinner at a Morton's steak house the other night with a bunch of friends ... and at one point during the meal, she was asked, "How did you and Ryan get together?"
Julianne responded, "He was after me since I was 18 ... he totally wasn't my type ... I thought he was gay."
But Hough continued, "After a few years, he was persistent ... so I went out with him on a date and I realized how much I liked him."
(Julianne just turned 22 on July 20, so that means Ryan pursued her for nearly four years. Persistent!)
Overlooking the rather surprising idea that TMZ has spies in North Carolina (
seriously?), and assuming this is true, it sounds like Julianne's mistaken impression of Ryan is pretty much every straight guy's worst nightmare, wouldn't you say? LOL
