Clients often ask me whether they should wear make up or go without. I have heard several advantages and disadvantages regarding the use of make up. I have been wearing make up since I was 16. I benefit from make up because I have small lips and eyes and learned to use make-up to accentuate my stronger features.
But to address the topic of wearing make up, some of the claims I come across are the following statements, "it makes me look old...it ruins my skin...it makes me look like a clown.... or my husband /boyfriend likes me the way I am."
These images show how make-up can enhance your appearance!

Advantages
1. Enhance your natural beauty
2. Can alter your skin texture
3. Help balance your facial features
4. Remove the shine from your skin (in photos)
5. Protect your skin from dirt, chemicals, and toxins
6. Remove the tiredness and under circles "bags" from eyes
7. Add moisture and hint to your lips
8. Help balance the pigmentation in your skin
9. Lipstick can help to "refresh" your face
10. Help you appear younger by hiding wrinkles

Most reservations come from not understanding how to properly use and apply makeup. Your significant other may be content with you in "the natural," but has he ever seen you dolled up? I wanted to attack this topic because the solution to all of these concerns is to seek the help of a beauty professional. Individuals in the cosmetics industry can be found at your local make-up counter, day spa, or contact a professional artist (such as myself ~ K.I.Make Up). Make-up professionals have been trained on how to properly apply make up, provide suggestions on skin care, and teach customers how to select products.
The bottom line is that there comes a time in every woman's life that she will want to enhance her appearance (larger eyes, fuller lips, defined cheekbones.) Wearing make up can drastically enhance your overall appearance and make you friendlier to the camera. If skin care is your concern, learn about your individual skin type by seeking products that will help protect your skin from the environment. In addition, there are several products that are specifically designed for sensitive skin, these products have the term hypo - allergenic on the label.
Ultimately, my suggestion is to find a make-up regimen that works for you. Wearing make-up can be fun and girlie, so head out to the cosmetics counter or drug store and "play up" those beautiful features!
